Though the whole story starts billions of years ago in some tiny puddle or a primordial sea, this modern chapter starts somewhere in the mid-70s.
Itโs ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ: ๐ฟ๐ด๐พ๐ฟ๐ป๐ดโ๐ ๐๐ฝ๐ธ๐๐ด๐ณ ๐ธ๐ฝ ๐ฝ๐พ๐ฝ-๐บ๐พ๐ฝ๐ต๐พ๐๐ผ๐ธ๐๐. People united in non-konformity against the cultural status quo. Since its very genesis of the movements in ๐ฝ๐ด๐ ๐๐พ๐๐บ ๐ฒ๐ธ๐๐, ๐ป๐พ๐ฝ๐ณ๐พ๐ฝ, and ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ป๐ธ๐ต๐พ๐๐ฝ๐ธ๐ฐ during the mid-to-late ๐ท๐ฟ๐ฝ๐ถ๐, the name was applied to ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ๐ by the press of the eraโmostly because they were confused by what it all meant. At its core, the ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ movement has been defined by an innate desire to explore cultural and social boundaries. Some would say that even the ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ๐ of the era didnโt grasp the entirety of the meaning of the movement themselves, and thus the half-baked cultural definition of ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ has lingered around unfinished for decades.
In โ๐ฝ๐ฝ, a promising young couple moved from ๐ผ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ท๐ธ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฝ to ๐ต๐ป๐พ๐๐ธ๐ณ๐ฐ ๐ฒ๐ธ๐๐ with their pup, a red Doberman Pinscher. Theyโd purchased the pup from a young girl back in ๐ผ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ท๐ธ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฝ whoโd named the Doberman, ๐ ๐ธ๐๐ด๐ฝ ๐๐ด๐๐ ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ, but he preferred to be called: ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ
๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ was often making friends and breaking the rules, anywhere he wentโthe sex, size, shape or color of the humans around him carried no significance to ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ whatsoever, he loved them all. ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ wanted to share his unconditional love with all, and hoped that ๐ฟ๐ด๐พ๐ฟ๐ป๐ด would do the same. Heck, even the ๐ต๐ป๐พ๐๐ธ๐ณ๐ฐ ๐ฒ๐ธ๐๐ sheriff wanted to buy ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ from the young couple. The sheriff would patrol by their home every so often, roll down his window and ask the same question, โ๐ท๐พ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ท?โ But the ๐ผ๐พ๐๐ท๐ด๐ would answer the same every time, โ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บโ๐ ๐ฝ๐พ๐ ๐ต๐พ๐ ๐๐ฐ๐ป๐ด.โ They could never sell ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ because that would mean the end of ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ, and they would not allow that.
๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ was a good boy, and a burning example of the label ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ being malleable, like life itself, or even, yes, can you believe it? The human brainโyour human brain. ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ isnโt simply a genre of music or even just a way that old ๐ฟ๐ด๐พ๐ฟ๐ป๐ด used to play dress up and modern young ๐ฟ๐ด๐พ๐ฟ๐ป๐ด cosplay. Itโs no longer a label for degenerate kidsโitโs a modality, a DNN trained to see and produce the world through love and curiosity such that we might arrive at a better planet and culture. ๐ต๐พ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ ๐ต๐ด๐ฐ๐.
The ever evolving ๐ผ๐พ๐๐ท๐ด๐ Earth accelerates while the ๐ฟ๐ด๐พ๐ฟ๐ป๐ด'๐ definition of ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ stagnates.

๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ isnโt a sound or look, itโs an approach, a modus operandi for the entirety of art, life, style, and planetary culture. In its simplest definition, ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ is the idea that the world should be run the way the ๐ฟ๐ด๐พ๐ฟ๐ป๐ด want it to be run, rather than a wholly top-down structure driven by those who have all the wealth and power. ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ is about going your own way and finding your own way; about bucking konformity and being your own person; about being your genuine self even when that self might not fit in with what everyone else expects from you or what you expect from yourself.
Itโs about the everyday people, itโs about the things that people do, itโs about the events that happen and how they shape our world. Itโs about what we do and how we think; itโs about keeping true to who we are despite our circumstances and the perpetual culture of conformity; itโs about self-determination and choice in every aspect of lifeโpersonal, political, social, spiritual, etc. Itโs about owning up to past mistakes, and trying to not make those mistakes again.
๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ is the dance between structure and chaos.
๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ is the lifelong interrogation of the self within the body, within the community, within the specie, within the planet, within the solar system, within the galaxy, within the Universe, ad astra, ad infinitum.
๐๐ป๐ณ๐; ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ is living an examined life across all dimensions and structures.
๐๐ท๐ด ๐๐ธ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐พ๐๐ ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ ๐๐ท๐ธ๐ฝ๐ถ ๐พ๐ฝ๐ด ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฝ ๐ณ๐พ ๐ธ๐ ๐ฒ๐ท๐ฐ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ด ๐พ๐ฝ๐ดโ๐ ๐ผ๐ธ๐ฝ๐ณ.
๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ is the spirit in all those who seek to make the world a better placeโeven when the Peopleยฎ wonโt allow for itโwhen it feels like things are going backward. In this new light, ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ very well could be the movement the ๐ฟ๐ด๐พ๐ฟ๐ป๐ด need to join together and cohabitate in planetary peace at last. Itโs about pushing the boundaries of our collective culture and imagination. Uniting all counter-cultures across the globe, ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ seeks to establish the most open and open source culture ever imagined. ๐พ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฝ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ด ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐
๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ is life, itself, in its age-old defiant march against the darkness and senselessness of the known Universe. ๐๐ท๐ด ๐ผ๐พ๐๐ท๐ด๐ ๐๐ฐ๐๐ฒ๐ท๐ด๐.
๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ is not an excuse to be an asshole or troll people. Itโs not a breeding ground for anarchy or nihilismโthose things cannot persist in a productive and progressive society. ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ isnโt about making yourself the center of the conversation, or attention. ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ๐บ is not taking pride in things you had no decision in.
